Locals like to relax in the park on the green metal chairs provided. You are not allowed to sit or even walk on the grass and rules of quiet tranquility are strictly enforced by park police. However, you can drink Champagne! And we had a lovely little picnic with cheese and baguette! 
Next it was a stroll along the Seine to visit Notre-Dame.
We didn't go inside, it was too late in the day... another day perhaps.
